join our team and help lgbtq+ young people facing homelessness

This is your chance to join the longest - running charity dedicated to tackling LGBTQ+ youth homelessness in the UK.

Fundraising Officer (Supporter Care )

About Us

akt is the UK’s national LGBTQ+ youth homelessness charity. Founded in 1989, we operates service centres in London, Manchester and Newcastle and provide support across the UK through our Digital Service. Last year, akt worked with over 1150 vulnerable young people.

We exist because of a simple but powerful thought that no young person should have to choose between a safe home and being who they are.

Today, young LGBTQ+ people are still at an increased risk of homelessness and are twice as likely to end up hidden homeless than their peers. akt provides support and routes to safe homes so that young people can thrive.

The Team

This role sits within akt’s fundraising and marketing team and is supervised by the Fundraising Manager (Individual Giving and Community).

Job Summary

This is a pivotal role for a creative fundraising individual to deliver outstanding customer service to supporters of akt and our mission to end LGBTQ+ youth homelessness.

akt's service could not exist without the support from our fabulous donors, volunteers and supporters. This role is essential to show our supporters the appreciation they deserve and prove their impact. The ideal candidate will be a creative and organised individual, who is passionate about supporter care.

In this varied role you will be responsible for efficiently thanking donors and using your excellent written and verbal communication skills to build strong relationships with supporters and provide ad hoc support across the fundraising team. You will be a vital part of a new supporter stewardship project which is looking at how we thank and steward supporters across fundraising.

This is a really exciting role at the heart of the fundraising team; it’s a great opportunity for someone who wants to learn about and be involved in all areas of fundraising and be an integral part of the team
